Solid Oak Hardwood Flooring

100% Solid 20mm thick European Oak "A" grade is used to make the "Penthouse" style hardwood floor. A single plank at 2200mm long, is made from a single piece of European Oak. The "Penthouse" range of hardwood floor is cut to 150mm wide and is very sturdy and stable. The solid Oak hardwood flooring is tongue and grooved and end matched.

Three stress grooves are cut along the underside of the hardwood flooring to stop it bending and to allow for ventilation. It is then given a micro bevel. The micro bevel reduces the visibility of an uneven floor and blends one plank to another, reducing the step effect for minor imperfections. It allows for the solid Oak hardwood flooring to be easily edge matched, and reduces the chances of problems, like tripping over, just in case a piece of hardwood flooring has been laid a mm too low or high.

The hardwood floor is then sanded to a very fine 150grit. An oil is applied to the Oak, clearly bringing out the natural quality in the hardwood. The 2200 x 150 x 20mm Solid Oak hardwood flooring is then packaged and ready to sell, lay and enjoy.
